The Opportunity:
We are looking for a motivated and engineering-minded Service Engineer Apprentice to join our growing team
based in Meriden. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a long-term career within
service engineering, inspection, and statutory compliance within commercial vehicle workshops.
The role will initially focus on conducting vibratory tool assessments at customer sites nationwide. As your
experience and competence develop, the role will progress into statutory engineering examinations and
inspections, including LOLER, PUWER, CP47 inspections, and minor running repairs.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working
independently while representing the company professionally on customer sites.
Initial Responsibilities:
• Conduct vibratory tool assessments at customer sites across the UK.
• Travel nationally to customer workshops and operational sites.
• Complete assessment reports accurately using company IT systems.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and site personnel.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
• Use company pool vehicles responsible
Progression Responsibilities:
• LOLER statutory examinations.
• PUWER inspections and assessments.
• CP47 inspections.
• Minor running repairs and service engineering support.
• Producing detailed engineering and inspection reports.
• Supporting customers with compliance and safety-related engineering requirements.
Training & Development:
This apprenticeship role offers structured development and progression opportunities within the engineering
inspection and compliance sector. Training will be provided in:
• Vibratory tool assessment procedures.
• LOLER inspections.
• PUWER regulations.
• CP47 standards.
• Engineering reporting systems.
• Minor repair and maintenance activities.
• Health & safety and compliance requirements.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop into a fully qualified Service Engineer/Inspector within
the business.

As an apprentice you’ll:
- complete a Engineering Maintenance Technician Level 3 – Mechanical Pathway apprenticeship standard
- have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
- learn and train for a specific job
- get paid and receive holiday leave
- get hands-on experience in a real job
- study for at least 20% of your working hours
- complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
