This is a mixed role between Service Advisor and Parts Advisor at a Volkswagen retail location. The role requires friendly and energetic engagement with customers, liaising with workshop and management teams, and maintaining parts stock.
Responsibilities
- Arrange bookings and appointments, communicate with customers face‑to‑face and by phone, and update them during service.
- Administer paperwork for customer service and centre records, prepare invoices, and process warranty claims.
- Collaborate with workshop and management to deliver a high‑quality customer experience.
- Assist with the sale of accessories and service plans, taking sales orders from customers.
- Provide advice to customers experiencing vehicle problems.
- Control stock of vehicle parts and accessories, maintain an orderly stock room, and raise invoices for parts sold.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure correct stock is available at the right time.
Training and Qualifications
Successful applicants will complete a one‑year apprenticeship combining virtual classroom learning and site‑based blocks at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes. Training costs, travel, accommodation, and meals are fully covered. Upon completion, apprentices receive:
- Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Standard
- Brand specific certifications
Qualifications Required
- GCSE grades 9‑4 (A‑C) or equivalent in English, Maths and one other subject.
- For Scottish applicants: predicted Scottish National 5 Grades A‑C in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical subject.
- Equivalent qualifications accepted: BTEC first diplomas and certificates, OCR Nationals, Key Skills Level 2, NVQs, Essential Skills (Wales), Functional Skills Level 2, Core Skills (Scotland).
Personal qualities: enthusiasm and willingness to learn, teamwork, strong communication, customer service, methodical work style, and IT literacy.
