Crown Kindergarten is an open‑plan, family‑run day nursery in Wimbledon that has been caring for children since 1974. Our nursery has a lovely friendly, homely feel that can be lacking in more corporate owned nurseries and enjoys a large fabulous garden.
Job Overview
A fantastic opportunity has become available at Crown Kindergarten. They are looking for an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to join their setting, fit well within their friendly team and learn skills on the job whilst supporting children’s play, learning & development.
Responsibilities
- Caring for children
- Preparing and maintaining environments to meet children’s needs
- Supporting children’s play and learning
- Supporting children’s development
- Adhering to all safeguarding practices
- Preparing snacks and helping with feeding and cleaning
Apprenticeship Details
As an apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 or 3 Early Years Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer meeting with you once a month, in the workplace.
To become an apprentice, you must:
- Be 16 or over
- Not already be in full‑time education
- Have regular one‑to‑one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
- Learn and train for a specific job
- Get paid and receive holiday leave
- Get hands‑on experience in a real job
- Study for at least 20% of your working hours
- Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
- Be on a career path with lots of future potential

Future Prospects
This vacancy is for a permanent position (for at least the duration of the Apprenticeship) with the possibility of full‑time employment within Crown Kindergarten upon the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.
