Inspiring Women Network is recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team and to contribute to our shared vision and goals. This role is to plan and deliver IWN’s volunteer programme by developing and maintaining effective engagement and participation of volunteers in our community, with a focus on the inclusion of minoritised individuals in Cornwall.
As the Volunteer Coordinator you will oversee the recruitment, training, placement, and retention of volunteers within the organisation. You will ensure that volunteers are effectively integrated into the organisation’s operations, ensuring the smooth running of IWN’s day-to-day activities. You will be creative, digitally-savvy, super-organised, with great speaking and writing skills, and can relate to people from all backgrounds.
Key responsibilities and requirements:
- Experience in recruitment
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise workload
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal with a diverse range of people, including networking and presentation skills
- Demonstrates the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Proficient administrative and IT skills
- Empathy with volunteering and understanding of volunteers’ needs
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Understanding of IWN, its vision, and its mission
- A demonstrable understanding of the issues facing minoritised people including barriers to participation
- Ability to travel in accordance with the requirements of the post
