Rowe Veterinary Group, part of inspiring vet care, are seeking a Branch Manager to lead the operational and administrative functions of our busy veterinary practice in Yate and Small Cat Clinic, just outside Bristol.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As Practice Manager, you will lead the non‑clinical operations of the practice, working closely with clinical leadership to ensure efficient day‑to‑day running, strong team performance, and an outstanding client experience. You’ll be responsible for operational delivery, people management, and compliance, supporting the practice to achieve its performance, quality, and service objectives. This role plays a key part in creating a positive culture and enabling clinical teams to deliver excellent care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day‑to‑day administration and operational management of the practice
- Lead and support the reception and administrative teams
- Manage staff rotas, annual leave planning and workforce scheduling to ensure appropriate practice coverage
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, onboarding and induction of new team members
- Support employee engagement, performance management and staff development initiatives
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and Head Nurse to deliver practice objectives and maintain high standards of service
- Monitor key performance indicators and support the achievement of business goals
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant regulatory requirements
- Handle client feedback and support the resolution of complaints
Working Pattern
Working 40 hrs a week over 4 or 5 days; part‑time options considered.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an organised and confident manager who can balance operational priorities while building strong relationships with colleagues across the practice. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a management role, ideally within healthcare, veterinary or service‑led environments
- Strong people management skills, including performance management and team development
- Good operational and organisational capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience handling complaints, change and complex situations with confidence
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
