An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vet Surgeon with a passion for advanced surgery to join St George’s Vets, following our current surgeon moving on to a surgical residency. You will work alongside an experienced orthopaedic/soft tissue surgeon, managing a varied and rewarding caseload including TPLO, BOAS, TECA, large mass removals, and laparoscopic spays. Extended surgical consult times are available for more complex cases, allowing you to deliver high-quality care.

St George’s is a well-equipped GP hospital offering mid-tier referral services to local practices. Facilities include:

  • In-house CT
  • Laparoscopic surgery
  • Extensive orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical equipment (including fracture repair)
  • Endoscopy
  • Full in-house laboratory

We are a collaborative and friendly team of 16 vets and 30 RVNs, including certificate holders and Advanced Practitioners. The practice spans nine sites and is set to relocate its main hospital to a brand-new purpose-built facility within the next 18 months. St George’s Vets is based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, with excellent transport links across the region. You’ll have easy access to Birmingham city centre, as well as direct rail connections to major cities including London and Manchester. The area offers a great mix of city living and nearby countryside, making it an ideal location whether you prefer a busy urban lifestyle or something more relaxed.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon at St Georges, you will:

  • Manage a varied surgical caseload including orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures
  • Deliver high standards of patient and client care within a busy hospital environment
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support clinical decision-making
  • Contribute to the continued development of surgical services within the practice
  • Support and mentor colleagues where appropriate

We can offer a 4-day, 40-hour working week, offering a strong work-life balance, alongside a shared 1 in 5 Saturday rota.
