Deepdale Vet Centre is a forward‑thinking, purpose built veterinary surgery set in rural Bedfordshire. We are a busy practice, with a very loyal client base. Pet health plans are very much encouraged. We have a wide range of equipment, including in‑house lab, digital x‑ray, new ultrasound machine, two theatres. We are a friendly and experienced clinical team with a great sense of humour.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications, and working closely with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.
Your duties/responsibilities will include:
- Greet customers professionally and handle telephone inquiries promptly.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including booking, cancelling, and rearranging.
- Record, pass on, and follow up on enquiries.
- Process payments, including PDQ machine usage, and allocate on the system.
- Promote services, manage debt control, and cash up daily.
- Process Insurance claims.
- Maintain a clean reception area and process clinic emails.
- To be trained as a Fire Marshall and First Aider and assist with H&S audits.
This is a part-time permanent role working 31.25 hours per week between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. You will also be working 1:4 Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
