We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Kingston Vets on a part‑time basis.

Kingston Veterinary Group is a long‑established group of two practices in the heart of Somerset and Dorset. We operate across two locations, offering Small Animal and Farm Animal care, all conveniently situated close to each other. Our state‑of‑the‑art facilities enable our clinical team to deliver veterinary care with a strong focus on maintaining high clinical standards, which we continually strive to develop and enhance.

We have a purpose‑built mixed practice premises located in Sherborne, complete with a dental suite, imaging suite, separate cat, dog and isolation facilities, laboratory room, farm procedure room and large species‑split waiting room, along with a host of offices and a dedicated nurses' office.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

  • 26 hours per week across 3 days
  • Working across both the Yeovil and Sherborne sites
  • Rotating shifts between 8:30am and 6:30pm
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings

General Responsibilities

  • Assisting Veterinary Surgeons in theatre and consultations
  • Responsibility for inpatient care
  • Monitoring anaesthetics
  • Assisting with patient admissions and discharges
  • Carrying out nurse consultations

You Might Be a Great Fit If…

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
