We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Portchester Vets on a Part-Time basis. For more than a decade, Portchester Vets has been caring for pets and their owners, becoming a trusted and well-loved practice within the local community. Located just a short walk from the high street, we’re known for our welcoming atmosphere, loyal client base and strong relationships built on trust.
How You’ll Make a Difference
The main responsibility of the role is to be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, whilst demonstrating a professional and knowledgeable impression to promote the practice and give confidence to our clients. Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming clients to the practice, taking payments and organising follow up appointments as necessary.
- Answering the telephone, booking appointments, answering queries and taking medication requests as well as weighing patients.
- Completing call backs to clients for missed calls or missed appointments to answer questions or re-book as required.
- Keeping client and patient records up to date on our practice management system.
- Administrative work including scanning documents, checking emails and assisting with insurance claims.
- Liaising with the Nurses and Vets to answer questions from clients and help them with their pet’s care.
- Keeping clients educated and actively promote pet health care plans and pet insurance where necessary.
- Keeping the reception area and consult rooms clean and tidy.
This is a part-time role working 21 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am-7:00pm. There will also be 1 in 5 Saturdays from 8:00am-12:00pm.
