We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team on a maternity cover basis within our busy first‑opinion small animal and exotics practice. This role is offered on a fixed‑term contract for 9 months, or until the return of the substantive post holder, whichever is sooner. There may be the opportunity to extend the contract on a month‑by‑month basis should business needs require.

- Team of 4 Vets, including an Exotics Specialist and an Exotics Certificate Holder
- Team of 4 RVNs, including 2 with Exotics Certificates and 1 with a Behaviour Certificate
- Dedicated VCA and team of part‑time Receptionists
- Digital radiography and four‑probe ultrasound machine
- Endoscopy, orthopaedic and laparoscopic equipment
- Separate dog, cat, isolation and exotics wards
- Dedicated dental suite with dental radiography
- Two operating theatres
- Vets Now service operating from the practice, allowing inpatients to remain on‑site overnight

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you. Applicants should be confident with consultations and routine surgical procedures and comfortable with occasional sole charge on Saturday mornings. Ideally, you’ll have at least two years of clinical experience, and an interest in surgery and dentistry would be advantageous.
