Our practice is a welcoming and supportive environment, dedicated to both your own personal development and the highest level of client and patient care. Our team currently consists of 10 Experienced vets, 11 Registered Veterinary Nurses and a team of 14 dedicated receptionists and support staff.

How you’ll make a difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications, and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Meeting and greeting clients in person and on the telephone
  • Answering and redirecting calls
  • Scheduling appointments on the practice computer system
  • Processing card and monetary payments
  • Liaising with nursing and veterinary staff
  • Taking pride and ownership of the reception area by keeping it clean and tidy at all times

The following criteria is essential for this role:

  • Minimum of 1 year receptionist experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A friendly and approachable manner when talking to clients
  • A fondness for animals
  • Ability to tackle many tasks at once and perform them to a high standard
  • Capable of working under pressure and in emergency situations
  • Computing and IT skills
  • Experience of working in a veterinary practice desirable, but not essential

The position is 31 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota basis covering a number of early and late shifts between 7.45 am and 7.15pm. There will also be Saturdays from 8.30am - 1.00pm on a 2 in 9 rota basis.
