Permanent Vet at Hillman Vets, Lichfield

Salary: Up to £65,000 (DOE)

Relocation support up to £5,000

Hillman Vets, part of the inspiring veterinary care network, is recruiting for a Veterinary Surgeon. The role will be split between our Lichfield and Brownhills sites and will require periods of sole charge working.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon you will work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You will continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You will support the ongoing development of those around you.

Work‑Life Balance

The typical full‑time role involves covering 36.75 hours per week, over 4 weekdays (09:00‒19:00) plus 1:5 Saturdays (09:00–12:30). There is no out‑of‑hours or on‑call duty required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
  • Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
