We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Hungerford Vets on a part‑time basis. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

The first of our branches in Hungerford was established in 1976 by original owner Pip Pocock, whose commitment to excellence has been maintained to this day. This strength in our services can be reflected by our status as one of the first veterinary hospitals in the country to receive RCVS accreditation, a seal of quality which we’ve maintained for over 20 years.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
You will work approximately 28 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8 am – 5:30 pm (½ hr unpaid break) and 1 in 4 Saturdays 8 am – 4 pm (½ hr unpaid break).
General responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and caring for inpatients
- Theatre work
- Administering medications
- Following treatment plans
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the animal care areas
- Assisting vets with examinations
