We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at The Veterinary Centre on a full‑time basis. The Vet Centre has been part of the community for many years and is known for its friendly atmosphere, compassion and team spirit. We are within easy reach by rail, car and bus. We have recently undergone extensive renovations which allow us to continue providing top quality care to our patients and owners. We have well‑equipped consult rooms, operating theatre, new dental suite with state‑of‑the‑art dental x-rays, laboratory, radiography facilities, ultrasound capabilities, and dedicated wards for cats, dogs and small furries.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

We are looking for someone who is able to work 40 hours per week on a 4 day week basis (shift pattern is a mix of early or late) plus 1 in 5 Saturdays (8:30am‑5:30pm) with time off in lieu.

General Responsibilities

  • Assisting our Veterinary Surgeons in theatre
  • Monitoring anaesthesia
  • Responsibility for inpatient care
  • Carrying out nurse consultations
  • Pharmacy duties

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
