Registered Veterinary Nurse - Equine | Cliffe Equine Hospital – Lewes, East Sussex

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Cliffe Equine Hospital on a full‑time basis. Cliffe Equine is an established RCVS Accredited Equine Hospital based just outside Lewes in the East Sussex countryside, with full surgical facilities, a 17‑box hospital and a team of qualified and trainee Equine Nurses.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week; part‑time applications will be considered
  • Shift times include 7:30 am–4:30 pm, 8:30 am–5:30 pm and on‑duty shifts
  • 1 in 4 out‑of‑hours and weekend rota

General Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include general nursing duties such as medical care, inpatient and outpatient care, assisting vets, setting up X‑ray, ultrasound, gastroscopy and other diagnostic equipment, running blood samples in‑house, theatre preparation and breakdown before and after surgery, nursing support during surgical procedures and ensuring excellent clinical and general horse care at all times.

  • Registered as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
