We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at New Priory Vets on a part-time basis.

This is a great location in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton and Hove. With it’s exciting and diverse culture, beautiful beach and seafront and excellent transport links to central London and Gatwick airport, Brighton and the surrounding area is a fantastic place to live. Our Brighton Clinic is based within our flagship hospital in central Brighton. The clinic provides a comprehensive range of general practice veterinary services including medicine, surgery, radiography, ultrasound and dentistry along with the support of nursing clinics - all bolstered by excellent hospital facilities. Patients of our Brighton Clinic can also benefit from the on-site support of Brighton Veterinary Referrals if additional expertise is required.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

  • This is a part-time permanent role working 16 hours per week with weekend & bank holiday work on rotation. The main place of work will be New Priory Brighton and cover at Beech House or Peacehaven for annual leave and sickness.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be the first line contact for clients and their pet's within our practice's and via telephone
  • Triage emergencies & provide advice
  • Relay all messages taken accurately & act in a timely manner
  • Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times
  • Welcome and register clients on arrival, make appointments
  • Dispense medicines as directed by our Vet's
  • Take payments and cash up
  • Social Media content management
  • Complete referrals and other administration tasks
