We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Abivale Vets on a full‑time basis. We would also consider part‑time applicants and those who are newly or nearly qualified. This role also comes with a £1,500 welcome bonus.

Abivale Vets is a well‑established small animal practice with a strong focus on teamwork, clinical standards, and delivering excellent care to both patients and clients. As a 24‑hour emergency care provider, we offer a varied and interesting caseload, giving our nurses the opportunity to develop a broad range of clinical skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. Our practice is well‑equipped with ultrasound, digital x‑ray, endoscopy, dental x‑ray, and an in‑house laboratory, allowing us to provide a high level of diagnostic and clinical care. Located within walking distance of the historic centre of Abingdon and just 15 minutes from Oxford, the practice benefits from excellent local amenities and transport links.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
  • 40 hours per week
  • 5‑day working week, with 8‑hour shifts
  • Weekend and bank holiday rota
  • No out‑of‑hours requirement, as this is covered by a dedicated night team
General Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging including radiography and ultrasonography
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
