How You'll Make a Difference
This is an early career role in our Cyber Defence team. You'll help protect IVC Evidensia's systems, services and information across a large international estate. You'll work alongside experienced security and technology colleagues and take on real responsibility from the start. The work shifts with operational priorities, so you'll get a broad grounding in monitoring, vulnerability management, identity, cloud and incident response.
- Monitor security alerts and events, gather evidence and carry out first line analysis, then escalate incidents in line with agreed procedures.
- Look after the Cyber Defence mailbox and ticket queue. You'll triage new requests, keep records accurate and flag high risk items quickly.
- Help find, validate and track vulnerabilities across applications, infrastructure, endpoints and cloud environments.
- Support identity and access work, from access reviews through to privileged access and authentication controls.
- Work with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Tenable and Purview, and on security across Azure, AWS, endpoints and Linux.
- Help build and test AI supported automation for alert enrichment, triage and investigation, with people reviewing and validating what it produces.
- Apply secure baselines and hardening guidance with technical and regional IT teams, and keep procedures and investigation notes up to date.
- Join the out of hours incident response rota once you're trained and formally added to it.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
We're looking for a driven, capable professional who brings:
- A degree in cyber security.
- Experience administering Microsoft and Windows environments.
- Some scripting experience in Python, PowerShell or Bash.
- A good understanding of core security principles, common threats and how systems are protected.
- A methodical, curious approach to investigating problems, and the ability to explain what you find to technical colleagues and to people without a technical background.
- The right to work in the UK and willingness to travel occasionally.
Desirable: practical experience from a placement, internship, home lab or capture the flag events; exposure to Azure, AWS, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel or Tenable; awareness of frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials; progress towards a certification like CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft SC 900.
A commitment to supporting our purpose and values.
