We’re looking for a Power Purchase Agreement Lead who wants real ownership, real deal flow, and the opportunity to shape both commercial strategy and product direction.
What makes this role stand out:
- Lead and close high-value Power Purchase Agreements end-to-end
- Operate at the intersection of market, deals, and platform innovation
- Work directly with founders in a fast-moving, high-impact environment
- Build something meaningful at the ground floor of a growing business
If you’ve personally closed multiple Power Purchase Agreements and want to scale your impact beyond traditional brokerage or utility roles, this is worth a conversation.
About the Role
This is a senior commercial leadership role within a fast-growing renewable energy marketplace operating across the United Kingdom and Europe. The business connects renewable energy generators with utility and corporate buyers through long-term Power Purchase Agreements.
You will join a small, highly active team where every individual has meaningful ownership and visible impact. This role is designed for an experienced PPA who wants to lead from the front, scale a high-performing origination function, and shape how the market transacts.
You will take full responsibility for identifying, structuring, negotiating, and closing PPA transactions, while also influencing platform development, commercial strategy, and market expansion.
What You Will Do
Power Purchase Agreement Origination and Revenue Leadership
- Build, manage, and convert a high-velocity pipeline of utility-scale and mid-market Power Purchase Agreement opportunities
- Lead full-cycle deal execution from origination and commercial structuring through to contract signature
- Personally negotiate and close a high volume of Power Purchase Agreements across the United Kingdom renewable energy market
- Optimise deal structures including pricing, Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin, and imbalance risk to maximise value for buyers, generators, and the platform
- Develop repeatable processes and templates, including European Federation of Energy Traders style agreements, to accelerate deal throughput
Market Development and Commercial Strategy
- Identify underserved segments of the renewable energy market and convert them into scalable revenue opportunities
- Build and maintain senior relationships with developers, independent power producers, utilities, and corporate stakeholders
- Advise on pricing models, fee structures, and commercial strategy to balance growth with profitability
- Support decisions on market expansion, asset class focus, and future product direction
Product-Led Growth and Platform Optimisation
- Act as the voice of the customer by feeding real-time market and client insights into the product and technology teams
- Partner with product and engineering to improve platform usability, onboarding experience, and time to value
- Drive the migration of simpler, standardised deals onto the platform to free capacity for complex, high-margin transactions
- Help shape a scalable, self-service marketplace that complements high-touch origination
Market Presence and Ecosystem Growth
- Establish yourself as a visible industry expert through thought leadership, webinars, events, and professional networks
- Develop sales enablement materials including presentations, automated outreach, and deal documentation
- Identify and secure partnerships with energy consultants, engineering procurement and construction firms, and other channel partners
Strategic Leadership
- Work closely with the founder and senior leadership on strategic priorities and execution
- Help build internal commercial systems, processes, and culture suitable for a scaling business
- Contribute to hiring, mentoring, and shaping the future origination team
Who This Role Is For
Required Experience
- Seven or more years of experience in Power Purchase Agreement origination, renewable energy procurement, or commercial roles within utilities or energy developers
- Proven personal track record of closing five to ten or more Power Purchase Agreements, not solely through team oversight
- Deep understanding of the United Kingdom energy market, counterparties, and Power Purchase Agreement structures
- Experience working in startup, scale-up, or fast-moving commercial environments
Skills and Attributes
- Strong outbound origination capability with comfort in high-volume prospecting
- Commercially sharp negotiator who can structure and close complex deals
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building processes from the ground up
- Fast decision-maker who learns and iterates quickly
- Collaborative team player who works closely with product, technology, and leadership functions
- Entrepreneurial mindset with high ownership and accountability
