Overview

Are you a proven problem solver with strong analytical skills? Our established Manchester based client is seeking a graduate Business Analyst to join their fast growing multi-disciplined Operations Department. Please note this role is based in the Manchester Region

Main purpose of the job

Developing technical and non-technical solutions to business problems by defining, analysing, and documenting requirements. Managing the documented solution into a Live environment including but not limited to training, piloting, benefits measurement, and project closure

Key Accountabilities

  • Investigate root causes of problems, identify where a business need exists and shape the project to address this need. Evaluate the options to meet the business need and support the development of the changes.
  • Research, analyse and define current and proposed business processes; apply gap analysis to identify actions required to implement the revised processes.
  • Communicate with allocated specialist department(s) to understand and document their current system/processes, and their future requirements and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure buy-in, maintain credibility, influence outcomes, and manage expectations.
  • Contribute towards the current development roadmap with change priorities and be confident explaining this to the wider team.
  • Use a range of tools and techniques such as swim lane diagrams, requirements catalogues, user stories and wire frames etc. of new/existing systems or processes to elicits, analyse, define, manage, and document requirements for business and IT change initiatives. Communicate requirements with business, users, and development team to ensure requirements are reflective of business needs.
  • Support business staff in testing business and IT changes to ensure acceptability and support the deployment of the changes to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Plan, document, and deliver training to staff when new functionality (or changes to existing functionality) is being released i.e. release guides/videos, training sessions or external marketing.
  • Provide regular updates to Lead Business Analyst on the progress of active projects/change requests.
  • Applying the principles of LEAN to recommend and deliver business improvements (not limited to IT systems) to enhance efficiencies and create value.

Qualifications

  • Degree Educated to 2:1 or above.
  • While having background in Business, Business Informatics or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields would be an advantage, we are open to applications from all academic backgrounds.
  • Work placement or internship completed as part of degree.
