About the Role: This role requires a confident and mature telephone manner, as the majority of time will be spent making outbound calls to Emergency Services Headquarters. What we are looking for: We are looking for a confident, outgoing Engagement Lead to become the vital link between our team and the UK Emergency Services Headquarters. This is an exciting telemarketing-focused role where your friendly, persuasive phone skills will help promote and drive registrations for The Emergency Services Show & Emergency Tech Show 2025. You will be the voice introducing the premier annual event for frontline responders to internal communications, press offices, and HR teams across Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Police Forces and the Voluntary sector. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will inspire key contacts to attend the show, helping us strengthen engagement across the emergency services community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confidently make proactive telephone calls to internal communications teams, press/media offices, and HR departments across all UK Emergency Services HQs.
- Act as a trusted ambassador for The Emergency Services Show & Emergency Tech Show, clearly communicating the benefits and encouraging contacts to register for free entry.
- Maintain and update a detailed contact database, ensuring all communications details are accurate and current.
- Identify and connect with the appropriate internal communications representatives, even if initial contacts do not handle internal staff communications.
- Use provided marketing and promotional materials to support your conversations and help contacts promote the show within their organizations.
- Follow up diligently to secure registrations via unique service-specific links, ensuring maximum attendance.
- Record all interactions and registration outcomes in Excel for reporting and tracking purposes.
- Promote additional engagement opportunities such as the Emergency Services Times newsletter, including managing print subscription requests with careful attention to detail.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to share feedback and insights gained during outreach efforts.
About You:
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a confident, engaging telephone manner.
- Experience or aptitude in telemarketing, client liaison, or sales roles where phone persuasion and relationship building are key.
- Highly organised with an eye for detail and the ability to manage and update contact databases effectively.
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to handle follow-ups and keep communication flowing until registration is secured.
- Comfortable working independently while supporting a wider marketing and events team.
- Passionate about supporting emergency services and frontline responders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable using CRM or database systems.
