We are seeking an experienced and motivated Working Site Supervisor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will lead and supervise site operatives while remaining hands-on with day-to-day construction activities. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead site operatives and subcontractors on a daily basis.
- Carry out hands-on construction work alongside the workforce as required.
- Plan and allocate daily tasks to ensure work programmes are achieved.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Promote and enforce health and safety regulations, carrying out daily site checks and ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Conduct site briefings and toolbox talks where required.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, and progress against programme.
- Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Order, monitor, and manage materials, plant, and equipment to avoid delays.
- Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues and report any significant concerns to management.
- Inspect completed works, identify defects, and ensure remedial work is carried out promptly.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports, labour allocation, and deliveries.
- Mentor apprentices and less experienced operatives, promoting high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Working Foreman, Foreman, or Site Supervisor within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and health and safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to motivate teams and solve problems effectively.
- CSCS Card (Preferred)
- First Aid at Work qualification (preferred).
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
