Meter Reader role at InspireUniversity.com. This position involves delivering customer service outdoors, collecting data from gas, electric and water meters, and using hand-held devices to ensure accurate and up-to-date billing. The role offers flexibility in planning your route and workload to meet targets. There is an occasional need to walk longer distances as not all customers live in built-up areas. The role includes a full-time flexible schedule with 30 hours per week between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Sunday. A company car may be available for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Collect meter readings for gas, electric and water meters using a hand-held electronic device and other equipment.
  • Plan and manage workload independently to achieve weekly targets set by the field delivery manager.
  • Maintain accurate data to ensure customers receive correct and up-to-date bills.
  • Occasionally walk longer distances to reach customers in non-densely populated areas.
  • Report any dangerous meter installations or suspected signs of tampering.
  • Represent the company in a professional and friendly manner; act as an ambassador for the brand.
  • Complete full training provided; prior experience is not required.

Requirements

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
  • Ability to plan and manage workload independently and work toward targets.
  • Flexible and positive attitude toward tasks and working hours.
  • Excellent customer service orientation; approachable, presentable, and polite.
  • Ability to work to timescales and under pressure.
  • Pass screening and vetting standards and pass a DBS check.
