We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Digital Marketing – Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Post:

Marketing & Communications Officer

Salary:

£12,000 – £16,000 per annum.

Purpose:

To contribute to and support the marketing and communications function for both the Hospice and the associated Trading Company.

Principal Tasks:

  • Assist with the design and production of a wide range of publicity material for both on-line and off-line use including letters; photographs, videos, leaflets; posters; brochures; programmes and social media content using online platforms including Canva.
  • Provide support, both physical and administrative, for any hospice promotions and ensure that digital technology is integrated throughout the charity.
  • Maintain and develop up-to-date information and activity on the Blythe House website, other relevant websites and via social media.
  • Review digital content, provide ideas and manage and develop the website.
  • Maintain the hospice’s social media content including for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Tik Tok.
  • Research and launch other platforms that may be beneficial for the hospice to utilise.
  • Co-ordinate the compilation and support the distribution of the hospice’s online supporter, staff and volunteer newsletter.
  • Identify methods to boost the website SEO performance.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Officer, liaise with local media to share press releases about news, events and information relating to the hospice.
  • On behalf of Blythe House Hospicecare & Helen’s Trust, maintain external publicity requests for fundraising events and activities that are being undertaken.
  • Monitor the marketplace to ensure that all viable new channels of direct marketing are explored and tested, whilst working cross-departmentally to maximize the effect of integrating campaigns.
  • Keep abreast of marketing innovations within the charity sector and develop new publicity activities and streams.
  • Work alongside and in co-operation with the Marketing & Communications Officer and other fundraising, administrative and clinical staff.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with regional colleagues.

  • Full current driving licence with ability and willingness to use own vehicle [as travelling is key to the role]

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)

The learner must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

37.5 hours a week, over 5 days (9.00am to 5.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break)
