We are looking for an

Energy Surveyor to join our successful ESG team. This role is home based, with travel to sites and offices required.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will support Inspired clients on their ESOS compliance and Net Zero journey.

Working closely with customers to understand their unique business and site operating challenges.

The Energy Surveyor will undertake site energy efficiency surveys, reviewing energy consuming plant and equipment, along with controls and site operations, compiling energy survey reports that meet the standards required for ESOS compliance.

  • The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams, arrange for the completion of site survey tools and templates relevant to individual clients’ sites selected for energy survey.
  • Arranging for appropriate RAMS to be prepared and agreed before each site visit.
  • Undertake site surveys, ensuring the identification/recording of all main energy consuming equipment, including but not limited to: boilers; heating and hot water systems; ventilation and air conditioning; lighting; compressed air systems; motors and drives; BMS and control settings; site power arrangements/transformers, voltage/power factor and onsite generation.
  • Observations and energy saving opportunities should also be made with regards to staff behavior and equipment operation/control.
  • Photographs of all main items of plant and observations of note.
  • Following and during survey, complete energy survey templates and additional analysis to allow completion of final site survey reports.
  • As required, attend report presentation meetings with clients and Inspired project teams to run through details of findings and observations.
  • Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.

Additional: The successful candidates must be willing to undertake regular travel with overnight stays where required.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Positive attitude, integrity & strong self-motivation
  • Good knowledge of energy and carbon management technologies & techniques
  • Experience of completing energy efficiency surveys across commercial and industrial buildings, including office, warehouse, retail and manufacturing
  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise activities.
  • Ability to analyse energy reports and develop recommendations.
  • Good experience and knowledge of undertaking site energy surveys within industrial and commercial buildings.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word software.
  • A full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of undertaking site energy efficiency reporting
  • A good knowledge and understanding of ESOS guidance and reporting requirements.
  • ESOS Lead Assessor qualification A full clean UK driving license
