We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our successful Risk team. This role is home based with travel to our office at least twice a month.
The role of Risk Manager includes:
- Providing a service to customers of Inspired as well as internal stakeholders who purchase energy supply requirements via a Flexible Purchasing product.
- Holding regular meetings with customers to discuss performance and hedging strategy.
- Providing in-depth market intelligence for relevant commodities.
- Liaising with various divisions in Inspired to support on delivering risk objectives.
- Monitoring customer hedging performance and identifying opportunities to improve reporting, strategy effectiveness and decision-making.
- Understanding end-to-end product lifecycle from pricing to billing.
- Managing operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Gas, Power and relevant industry knowledge.
- Proven ability to engage credibly with senior customer stakeholders, including finance, procurement, energy and operational decision-makers, with the confidence to support C-suite.
- High numerical ability with analytical capability and a strong academic background.
- Good understanding of risk management analysis, probability, statistics and quantitative analysis.
- Familiarity with analysing large and complex data sets across multiple databases/sources.
- Advanced skills and experience of Energy Trading and Risk Management System.
- Highly resilient, with considerable experience and evidence building strong relationships, interacting and engaging at all levels.
- Proven ability in working with very large, complex spreadsheets and databases.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team worker, as this role will require working with a wide variety of people at all levels across the business.
- Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel essential).
- Minimum 5 GCSEs A-C grade including Maths and English.
- Clean & Full UK Driving Licence.
