This role is ideally suited to a career minded, ambitious individual who is looking for that unique opportunity to prove what they can do and then be rewarded for it. We are looking for a Quality Assurance ESG Analyst to join our successful ESG team. This role is home based with occasional visits to our Kirkham (Lancashire) head office required.
Role and Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for conducting Quality Assurance (QA) of clients’ ESG deliverables to include Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) assessments and reports; Streamlined Environmental and Carbon Reporting (SECR); Energy Savings Opportunity Schemes (ESOS) reports; Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations and reports; and Net Zero Strategies.
- Conduct ISO 9,001 internal audits and external assurance services for clients, for example, verification of GHG emissions to meet ISO 14,064 and comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
- Involved in developing and updating Quality Assurance procedures for a range of ESG services, to meet the latest regulations, guidance and best practice standards.
- Responsible for QA checks and audit trails for client deliverables, to ensure they are compliant, with no omissions or misstatements.
- Conduct external assurance services for clients, for example, verification of GHG emissions to meet ISO 14,064, AA1000 and CSRD.
- Strong project planning, prioritisation and communication skills, to consult with colleagues to meet client deadlines.
- Project manage QA services, to help manage your individual and team’s workload.
- Provide training to staff members as part of continuous improvement measures.
- Develop and update ESG procedures, in line with regulations, guidance and best practice standards.
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations for improving ESG workstreams.
- Review and keep up to date with new policies and legislation, associated with ESG services.
- Read and comply with the company’s Health and Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health and Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Essential: Degree in STEM / Humanities discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience with conducting carbon footprint calculations (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) or the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme.
- An ability to QA clients’ ESG deliverables.
- Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong report writing capabilities, to write QA processes.
- An ability to project manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Desirable: 2+ years of experience in consultancy or analytical roles, focusing on carbon management.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy technology and climate models.
- Experience in conducting external audits, for example, ISO 14,001 or ISO 50,001.
- Experience in conducting assurance services for clients, for example, ISO 14,064 or CSRD.
- Experience in providing training to staff members.
- Experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
