This role is ideally suited to a career minded, ambitious individual who is looking for that unique opportunity to prove what they can do and then be rewarded for it. We are looking for a Non-Commodity Energy (Levy Exemption) Specialist to join our successful Levy Exemption Team within the Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) Division. This is a Home Based role with some travel to the office and client sites required.
Role and Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for conducting client analysis for eligibility and qualification into Energy Non-Commodity Levy Exemption Schemes. These will include but not limited to Climate Change Agreements (CCA), Energy Intensive Industries (EII) exemptions, Mineralogical and Metallurgical (MinMet) exemptions, Carbon Price Support Mechanism (CPSM), Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA), Feed in Tariff (FiT) and Network Charging Compensation Scheme (NCCS).
- In addition, you will be involved in developing and updating procedures for these services, to meet the latest regulations, guidance and best practice standards.
- The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Identifying appropriate clients and their qualifying processes from both within our current client base and also in the wider market.
- Liaise with internal departments and clients to secure the appropriate data.
- Analyse data to confirm qualification into the relevant scheme.
- Produce report for the client to understand the opportunity.
- Present findings to client in support of their dedicated Account Manager.
- Liaison with Sector/Environment Agency/Department of Business and Trade to ensure application is completed and queries addressed.
- Strong project planning, prioritisation and communication skills.
- Project manage services, to help manage your individual and team’s workload.
- Provide training to staff members as part of continuous improvement measures.
- Develop and update Levy Exemption procedures, in line with regulations, guidance and best practice standards.
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations for improving Levy Exemption workstreams.
- Review and keep up to date with new policies and legislation, associated with Levy Exemption services.
- Read and comply with the company’s Health and Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health and Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.
Experience and Qualifications
- Essential:
- Degree in STEM or equivalent professional experience.
- Evidenced experience, awareness and understanding of the Levy Exemption process in the UK.
- Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills including verbal and report writing capabilities.
- An ability to identify eligible processes within a client business.
- 2+ years of experience in consultancy or analytical roles, focusing on energy management and Levy Exemptions.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy technology.
- Experience in conducting energy audits.
- Experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
