We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team and support the upkeep and smooth running of our villages. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, comfort, and appearance of both residents’ homes and communal areas. From assisting with repairs and general maintenance to supporting larger projects, your practical skills and proactive approach will help ensure our villages remain welcoming, safe, and well-presented.

The Role- Undertaking repair work to support preventative maintenance tasks, including legionella control, residential checks, site surveys, and general repairs
- Prioritising and completing work requests raised by residents and colleagues, determining the most effective solutions
- Reporting damages and defects promptly and accurately to ensure timely resolution
- Conducting residential checks, monitoring issues, and providing practical maintenance solutions
- Supporting the grounds team with gardening, landscaping, and general exterior maintenance duties
- Driving the village minibus as part of the driver rota, where required
- Assisting the Head of Maintenance with repairs related to new building defects
- Previous experience in building repair, maintenance, or grounds care
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Confident, personable, and professional, with strong communication skills
- Any relevant qualifications in building trades, maintenance, or health and safety would be advantageous, though hands-on experience is highly valued.
- This role would suit someone with a care home/ hotel / leisure centre maintenance operative background.
