As Head Gardener, you will take ownership of all aspects of the village landscape, creating and maintaining high-quality outdoor spaces that enhance wellbeing and provide a welcoming environment for residents and visitors. You will lead and develop the grounds team, ensuring the estate is presented to an exceptional standard while supporting sustainability and biodiversity initiatives.

The Role
- Leading and taking full responsibility for all aspects of grounds and garden management across the village, ensuring exceptional presentation and standards at all times.
- Managing and developing the grounds team, effectively prioritising and delivering work requests raised by residents and colleagues.
- Planning and managing team rotas to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient delivery of all grounds maintenance activities.
- Overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of all landscaped areas, including lawns, flower beds, hedges, shrubs, borders, and hard landscaping such as pathways, drainage, and communal spaces.
- Implementing effective pest control and weed management strategies to maintain the health and appearance of the grounds.
- Engaging with residents to provide expert horticultural advice and support, enhancing their enjoyment of the outdoor environment.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience managing grounds or gardens within a large estate or similar environment.
- Strong horticultural knowledge, including plant care, seasonal maintenance, and landscape management.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
