Join us as an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative and earn while you learn as part of our Inspired Works team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. Are you practical, hands-on, and eager to build a career in property maintenance? This role will support our villages across Bedfordshire, Cheshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, providing a varied and rewarding working environment.

Inspired Works is our in-house property maintenance and repairs team. We look after every part of our villages, from homes and communal spaces to the beautiful outdoor areas. Our work helps residents feel safe, supported, and proud of where they live. We’re a friendly team that takes pride in what we do. No two days are the same, and every task contributes directly to improving someone’s home and daily experience, whether it’s fixing, improving, decorating, or enhancing the environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship while working alongside experienced trade professionals who will support, train and mentor you as you develop a wide range of skills in the following areas:
- Carpentry and Joinery: Repairing or refurbishing fixtures such as doors, windows, and worktops.
- Plumbing and Drainage: Assisting in minor plumbing and drainage repairs.
- Plastering and Tiling: Supporting minor plastering tasks and tiling work.
- Painting and Decorating: Applying finishes to various surfaces.
- General Maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance and minor planned or responsive repairs across facilities.
- External works: To include ground works and external maintenance.
As an apprentice, you’ll take part in real, meaningful work across our village portfolio, including:
- Supporting planned and responsive repairs.
- Learning core skills in carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and painting & decorating.
- Assisting with external and ground works.
- Preparing work areas, using hand and power tools under supervision.
- Helping with fault-finding and routine maintenance checks.
- Understanding quality standards, building safety, and environmental best practices.
- Learning how to work professionally and respectfully in residential environments.
You’ll rotate across different trade areas, gaining exposure to a wide variety of tasks while building a strong, practical foundation for your future career.
Training & Support
- On-the-job training from skilled colleagues.
