As a Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to the highest standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and creativity in every meal. The Role
- Assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes that are creative, high-quality, and visually appealing to delight residents and guests
- Working closely with the Head Chef to deliver full food services for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Preparing café-style food, including brunches and light lunches
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, ensuring all areas meet food safety standards
- Following and upholding Health & Safety legislation at all times
- Contributing to an outstanding dining experience, providing excellent service to residents and guests
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant in a busy kitchen environment
- Good knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and procedures
- Food safety qualifications (working towards Level 2 in Food Safety or equivalent is desirable)
- Creativity and passion for food, including preparation, presentation, and nutrition
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently while maintaining high standards
