Overview
Role: Experienced Nurse (RMN, RNLD, or RGN with relevant mental health experience) with Rushcliffe Care Group
Location: Mill Lodge Hospital, Kegworth, Leicestershire
Hours: 40 hours per week (shift-based rota including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays)
Salary: £21.15 per hour
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for delivering and overseeing high‑quality nursing care within the ward environment.
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to assessment, care planning, and ongoing evaluation of service users' needs.
- Ensure care is safe, effective, and aligned with best practice and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure that care plans are implemented consistently.
- Support junior staff and take a proactive approach to risk management, clinical decision‑making, and escalation of concerns.
- Contribute to the overall running of the ward and support shift coordination.
- Operate with resilience, sound judgement, and the ability to work in environments with complex or challenging behaviours.
Requirements
- Registered nurse (RMN, RNLD, or RGN) with valid NMC registration.
- Experience in a mental health, acute, or PICU setting; capable of managing clinical situations independently while contributing to a team.
- Calm under pressure, organised, and able to make clear decisions in complex situations.
- Understanding of accountability, professional standards, and maintaining clear boundaries.
- Effective communication, ability to keep accurate records, and confidence in supporting and guiding less experienced staff.
About the Service
Mill Lodge Hospital is a specialist hospital providing care and rehabilitation for adults aged 18 and over with complex mental health needs, including those detained under the Mental Health Act. The hospital has four wards and a multidisciplinary team including nursing, psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, and social work, delivering person-centred, recovery-focused care.
