The Role

Permanent position, either employed or self-employed.

Preferred Days/times: 5 hours per day Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 hours per week total.

Tasks/duties:

  • The client would like to find and access voluntary work (and would need support to do and attend this).
  • Support with community activities.
  • Progress with their learning of maintaining the home.
  • Support with gardening.
  • Learn to buy, budget, prepare and make meals, and improve their cooking skills.
  • Consider attending a computer course.
  • Develop their independence.

PA will use the client's own vehicle.

PA will be required to have a full, clean, UK driving licence.

Family will pay travel expenses.

Client Main Diagnosis: Learning Disability, Autism, Eczema.

Manual Handling: None.

Pets: No pets.

Communication: The client can verbally communicate; however, they can struggle to express themself and then become frustrated, which may mean that they will rub their hands together or hit their head.

Client Enjoys: Being active and sociable. They enjoy their college course, basketball, going to a local temple, Lego, watching TV, using their phone, going to the shops, being given tasks, and cooking. They like to independently travel on the bus on a regular basis.

This opportunity is suited for someone who is responsible, reliable, positive, proactive, and respectful of others' privacy, dignity, values, and beliefs.
