Contract & Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Please note, this is a 6-month maternity cover contract, with the possibility of an extension to 12 months.
The Production Lead is a key support role at the heart of the team, turning Boots offer data into clear, accurate production briefs and orders for agencies and printers. Using recently introduced tools and automated processes, the role takes offer data through to completed briefs, keeping the team's work flowing smoothly and freeing colleagues to focus on delivering great outcomes for Boots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Turn Boots offer data into tangible, production-ready briefs, using new tools and automated processes to move quickly and accurately from Boots raw offer data, through ITG's briefing platform into clear briefs that agencies and printers can use.
- Be a friendly, dependable point of contact for assigned category teams and contacts on print production queries.
- Join pre-review meetings with category stakeholders to stay across period status and progress, and spot any issues early on.
- Check and quality-control briefs generated automatically from SAP PMR offer data, logging issues and supplementing missing or incomplete information - the final check that makes sure what reaches agencies and printers is right.
- Process checked and completed briefs through to Flo for content creation, ensuring all necessary information and assets are attached.
- Use existing artwork templates wherever appropriate, making sure those batches are processed correctly.
- Track briefs through the production process end-to-end, keeping jobs on schedule by checking in with internal and external stakeholders.
- Make sure content is created and approved in line with Boots brand and category guidelines before proceeding to print.
- Flag recurring data quality or briefing issues to the Senior Production Lead, helping the team continually improve how the tools and processes work.
- Escalate any issues via the correct reporting channels so the Senior Production Lead can resolve challenges with the support of the Boots Commercial Operations team.
- Help the team through peak trading periods by managing increased brief volumes accurately and within tighter timelines.
- Be flexible and ready to move between categories and brief types in line with the Senior Production Lead's resourcing needs.
Key Relationships:
- Senior Production Lead - reporting line, escalation, and support during peak periods.
- Category teams, ISM, Opticians, and BMG - day-to-day relationship management.
- Agencies and printers - briefing and delivery of production requirements.
- Wider production team - working together to share learnings and keep briefs flowing.
- Experience in a production, artwork, or coordination role, ideally within retail, FMCG, or agency environments.
- A strong aptitude to learn new systems quickly.
- Enthusiasm for new tools and process automation (including AI), and a keen interest in making ways of working smoother for the whole team.
- High attention to detail, particularly when checking automated outputs and supplementing missing information.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple live briefs across different categories at once.
- Friendly, proactive communicator, comfortable liaising with category stakeholders, agencies, and printers.
- A supportive team player who takes pride in work that keeps the wider team running smoothly.
- Calm under pressure, particularly during peak trading periods with high briefing volumes and tight deadlines.
