Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Test Lead to own and coordinate testing across a Salesforce-based programme. The role will have a strong focus on hands-on manual testing, while also providing leadership across test planning, execution, defect management, risk control and quality reporting. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure that solutions are fully tested, traceable to requirements and ready for release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain and communicate the overall test approach, plans, scope and priorities
  • Lead hands-on manual testing across Salesforce functionality, integrations and end-to-end business processes
  • Review requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria to identify gaps and ensure appropriate test coverage
  • Coordinate functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing activities
  • Manage test environments, test data, dependencies, schedules and delivery risks
  • Own defect logging, triage, prioritisation, retesting and closure
  • Provide clear test progress, quality, risk and release-readiness reporting
  • Work collaboratively with delivery teams, business users and senior stakeholders
  • Maintain suitable test evidence, traceability and test closure documentation

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Test Lead on complex digital or enterprise programmes
  • Strong hands-on manual testing experience, including test analysis, design and execution
  • Demonstrable experience testing Salesforce solutions
  • Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression and UAT testing
  • Experience creating test strategies, plans, estimates and risk-based testing approaches
  • Confident ownership of the full defect lifecycle and test reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and team coordination skills

Current BPSS clearance is required

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience introducing or supporting test automation
  • Previous experience delivering testing within UK Government or the wider public sector
