About Us
My client is a well-established independent optical practice serving the local community in West Norwood. Our practice includes two consulting rooms. We operate primarily single testing clinics and offer additional services including audiology and contact lenses. Our team consists of two reception staff and one resident optometrist, supported by free on-site parking for staff and patients.
The Role
We are seeking a highly organised, commercially aware, and patient-focused Qualified Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our practice. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, operational oversight, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
MUST BE REGISTERED ON THE GOC & HAVE PREVIOUS MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Oversee daily practice operations to ensure efficiency and smooth patient flow
- Manage appointment scheduling and clinic optimisation
- Ensure compliance with GOC, NHS, and data protection requirements
- Maintain stock control and oversee frame and lens ordering
- Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and support the team.
- Work closely with the resident optometrist to maintain high clinical standards
- Manage rotas, including Saturday cover
- Conduct team meetings and performance reviews
- Patient Experience
- Ensure exceptional customer service from first contact through aftercare
- Handle patient queries and resolve complaints professionally
- Maintain a welcoming, professional environment
- Commercial Oversight
- Monitor KPIs and business performance
- Manage supplier relationships
- Oversee budgeting and cost control
- Drive retail performance through effective merchandising and team engagement
Working Hours
This is a full-time role including Saturdays. Availability for Saturdays, typically 2-4 per month, with most months allowing 1-2 Saturdays off.
Salary & Benefits
