Domiciliary Optical Assistant – Kilmarnock & West Coast of Scotland

If you’re an experienced Optical Assistant looking for something different — and rewarding — we’re working with a well-established domiciliary provider who delivers first-class optical care to patients in their own homes. Covering Kilmarnock, Ayr, Irvine and surrounding coastal areas, this role offers a refreshing change of pace, without the usual weekend grind.

What’s on offer:
Monday to Friday – no weekends, early finishes most days
£27,000 salary + company car

What you’ll be doing:

  • Setting up and running clinics in patients’ homes
  • Visiting patients across Kilmarnock, Ayr, Irvine and the west coast
  • Dispensing glasses (including varifocals) to patients of all ages
  • Providing kind, personalised care to elderly and vulnerable individuals
  • Working independently or with a colleague depending on the clinic
  • Managing around 4–12 dispenses per day

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in optics
  • Confident dispensing across all prescription types
  • Comfortable working solo and managing your day
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience with Acuitas is a bonus
  • Someone with a warm, caring approach and a passion for people
