We are excited to be working with a mission driven publishing house, who are looking for an accomplished publishing leader of fiction books to guide the vision and growth of a dynamic and mission driven list. This role is full-time, permanent, and offers hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office, and will suit someone who brings strategic clarity, strong editorial judgement and a genuine commitment to publishing original and meaningful work.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for the publishing programme and identify new opportunities for development
- Lead the acquisition of stand-out titles and maintain strong relationships with authors, agents and literary networks
- Oversee editorial quality and support the team in delivering excellent publications
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to build effective plans for key titles
- Represent the organisation at events and build partnerships that increase visibility and impact
What You Will Bring

- Deep understanding of the current publishing landscape and audience needs
- Confident and supportive leadership skills
- Excellent communication, sound editorial judgement and a passion for distinctive voices
- Experience managing budgets and working to revenue related goals

Working arrangements
- Hybrid working pattern with two days in the office and three days from home. Standard hours are 9:30 to 5:30 with occasional additional time during busy periods.
