Our client is a prestigious, highly successful publishing organisation that works with global publishers providing editorial and project management services. This is a full-time, 12 Month fixed term contract, offering remote working.
As Project Manager, Education your main remit will be to schedule and manage the editorial stages of multi-component publishing projects, from manuscript through to final files. Responsibilities include, amongst others:
·To manage project teams in-house and externally
·To lead a series of books, collating proofs, conducting photo research and writing artwork briefs
·To brief typesetters and perform QAs on proofs, ensuring layouts are corrects and in line with design specifications
·To communicate effectively with publishing clients, providing regular project updates
·To add value for customers by identifying potential project risks and issues as early as possible and proactively managing these through a solutions focused approach
·To ensure that all products are delivered on time, meet quality standards, fall within budget and are produced to the required specification
·To assist the education director and mentor project managers/editors as required
The ideal Project Manager will have a background in editorial project management within Educational Publishing, having managed education books from manuscript through to print, including carrying on various editorial tasks, including managing books in the pre-press stage. Alongside being able to showcase your excellent organisation, project management and communication skills, you will demonstrate autonomy and exceptional stakeholder management skills.
