Our client is a leading design agency for the publishing industry based in rural Bedfordshire. Renowned for their exceptional quality and creative excellence across both print and digital resources, they are now seeking a Production Editor to join their Publishing Services team. This team plays a crucial role in supporting the studio with non-design tasks and ensuring the highest standards of output across all projects.
The successful candidate will initially be based in the office at least 5 days a week during probation, with the opportunity for hybrid working in future.
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience.
Location: Rural Bedfordshire (car essential unless close enough to cycle).
Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year to max. 25 days + bank holidays.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail‑oriented, and passionate about supporting production of high‑quality educational materials. You will be working closely with the Publishing Services Manager and studio team, contributing to a fast‑paced workflow that demands precision, adaptability and initiative.
Responsibilities:
- Proofreading designer output for editorial accuracy and carrying out editorial corrections
- Formatting text and images in Word
- Picture research and artwork commissioning
- Liaising with suppliers, tracking costs and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and budget
- Maintaining in‑house quality control procedures and accurate time records using studio systems
- Using Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel to an advanced level
