We are super excited to be working with a fast growing, award winning independent children's publisher who is seeking an exceptional Marketing & PR Director to lead their talented team across a vibrant and expanding publishing list for children books. This is an exciting newly created position, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, inspire a high performing team, and play a pivotal role in amplifying a beloved children's brand in both the UK and international markets.

About the Role

This is a rare chance for an accomplished Marketing and PR leader to guide a multiskilled team covering PR, Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Marketing Design. You will bring cohesion, creativity and strategic vision to all promotional activity across the list. Working closely with Sales, Editorial, Audio, and international teams, you will ensure campaigns are innovative, impactful, commercially focused, and aligned with long term business goals. The role is both strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative publishing environment and is motivated by growth, creativity, and results.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

  • Oversee the full Marketing, PR, and Digital strategy across all lists
  • Develop and deliver engaging, high profile consumer and trade campaigns
  • Manage and optimise marketing budgets and forecasting
  • Lead, develop and inspire a talented multidisciplinary team
  • Introduce fresh creative ideas that elevate brand visibility and drive sales
  • Work cross departmentally to unify strategy across Sales, Editorial and Audio
  • Analyse and report on campaign performance, marketing ROI and overall impact

You bring a deep well of senior experience across both PR and Marketing in publishing, with a natural affinity for children’s books. Over the years, you’ve shaped memorable campaigns and helped brands find their voice, always with an eye for what resonates. You thrive in collaborative, fast-moving environments, guiding integrated teams with confidence and clarity. Building relationships comes easily to you, and your understanding of the children’s market helps you make smart, consumer-focused decisions.
