We are delighted to be working with an independent publisher on an exciting Publicity and Marketing Manager opportunity. This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary and hybrid working, requiring 3 days per week in the company's central London office.

This role will suit someone who wants genuine ownership of non fiction campaigns and the opportunity to influence how books land with the media, the trade and readers. The list covers politics, current affairs, history, sport and social issues, with authors ranging from emerging voices to well known names.

Reporting into senior commercial leadership, the role combines strategic thinking with hands on delivery across publicity and marketing.

The role:

  • Lead imaginative publicity campaigns for non fiction titles
  • Secure media coverage across print, broadcast, podcasts and digital platforms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media and trade partners
  • Write and pitch press materials confidently and creatively
  • Plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns
  • Manage social media, newsletters and digital content
  • Support frontlist and backlist campaigns throughout the year
  • Work closely with authors, agents and internal teams
  • Contribute to acquisition discussions and title positioning
  • Help build the publisher's profile within the industry

About you:

  • Proven experience delivering non fiction publicity campaigns
  • Strong understanding of the UK media landscape
  • Confidence working with authors at all levels
  • Experience across digital marketing channels
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills
  • Highly organised, ideas led and comfortable working to deadlines
  • A genuine interest in politics and current affairs
  • Experience negotiating serialisations would be an advantage but is not essential.
