We are really excited to be partnering with The Folio Society, who are known for creating beautifully crafted books. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative, and passionate publishing team, reporting to the Head of Acquisitions. They’re looking for a self-starter and a team player, who enjoys building strong working relationships internally and externally, with confidence to use negotiation skills and uphold the company's excellent reputation.
The position centres on contracts, keeping deals moving with a meticulous approach. You will take responsibility for preparing contracts, discussing terms with external partners, and making sure every detail is recorded accurately. You will handle the renewals process, including negotiating and agreeing new terms and ensuring everything is documented. The role also involves looking after permissions, keeping rights information up to date, and coordinating payments connected to acquisitions.
You will work closely with the Finance team during royalty periods, reviewing statements, answering queries between departments, and confirming payments relating to advances and permissions.
You are someone with experience in publishing contracts, rights, or acquisitions, with hands-on experience with books. You can negotiate with confidence, you are responsible and reliable, and able to cultivate collaborative and effective relationships with colleagues and partners.
