Job Description:
A prestigious academic press, known for publishing high-quality scholarly research across books and journals, is seeking a motivated Key Account Manager for the Americas to drive sales growth and deepen relationships across North and South America.
Role overview:
Salary: £35,-£40, per annum plus bonus
Full time, permanent
Location: UK (office or remote working considered)
Holiday: 40 days a year (including bank holidays)
Hours: 35h per week

This important role will focus on managing and expanding institutional sales of print and digital products (including ebooks and journals) within academic libraries and other key markets across the region. You will develop and execute strategic account plans, ensuring maximum revenue opportunities while representing the press at the highest level in the Americas.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead sales strategy for North and South America to meet ambitious revenue targets across print and digital formats
·Build trusted relationships with institutional clients and consortia, focusing on retention, upselling, and identifying new opportunities
·Collaborate closely with partners, distributors, and sales agents across the region
·Represent the press at major industry events, conferences, and book fairs, with occasional international travel required
·Monitor sales performance, maintain CRM records, and contribute to market insight reporting
·Work cross-functionally with marketing, editorial, and operational teams to support growth and enhance customer experience.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
·Proven account management experience, ideally within academic publishing, libraries, or digital content sales
·Strong understanding of academic markets, particularly in North America; experience working with institutional librarians, consortia, and sales agents is highly desirable.
·Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
·A proactive, target-driven mindset with the ability to identify creative solutions
·Organisational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working across time zones
·Experience with CRM systems and managing complex sales cycles is advantageous.
