We are exclusively recruiting a Finance Manager for a growing London based Independent publisher with operations in the UK and US. We are looking for someone who is either part qualified or qualified with ACCA or equivalent and someone who has already worked in book publishing and understands the process.
This is a brand new role for the business and will be pivotal to growth. We are therefore looking for someone who has had experience of building an effective finance function in house and can show how they can add value across the business as well as be able to report effectively to the CEO, Senior managers and Non Exec Directors. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and be of course, proactive.
We are keen to find someone who can collaborate effectively across the organisation, helping to build strong commercial and budgeting capabilities in all departments by coaching and empowering teams to utilise budgeting tools and management information for more informed decision-making.
We are looking for someone who has experience of the following:
- Financial and management reporting
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Cash flow management
- Ad hoc reporting
- Compliance and Audit
Education & Experience:
- Part qualified ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in a financial management role, with experience in a publishing or publishing-related environment.
- Strong understanding of the publishing industry, including knowledge of royalty payments, advances, work in progress.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Xero
- Advanced Excel skills
