Reddam House Berkshire is a co-educational, independent school, housed in a Victorian mansion and set in 125 acres of wood and parkland. We have 800+ students between the ages of 3 months and 18 years registered here (day students and boarders from age 11+). Children are recognised as individuals with unique skills to celebrate and given tailored support and guidance at each stage of their school career.
The unique Reddam House philosophy and our formula for success are based on the quality and depth of our curricula, cultural and sporting activities, and especially our teaching staff. We currently have a vacancy for a part-time School Nurse. We are seeking to appoint a compassionate and enthusiastic School Nurse to join our dedicated Medical Centre team. This permanent, term-time only role is available for 15 hours per week (ideally 2pm-5pm), starting September 2026.
Working within a busy and supportive Medical Centre, you will provide high-quality nursing care and pastoral support to children and young people aged 3 months to 18 years, including both day pupils and boarders. The Medical Centre plays a vital role within the school community, providing first aid, emergency care, ongoing management of medical conditions, and emotional support for pupils, as well as assistance to staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing first aid, emergency treatment and day-to-day nursing care.
- Supporting pupils with long-term medical conditions and individual healthcare plans.
- Administering medication and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Promoting the health, wellbeing and emotional welfare of pupils.
- Liaising with parents, school staff and external healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining medical supplies, First Aid resources and clinical records.
- Supporting the health needs of both day and boarding pupils.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Caring and professional approach.
- The ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
- 3 - 5 years of nursing experience in A&E or as a practice nurse (band 6).
- The ability to work on complex cases.
