Reddam House Berkshire is a flagship UK school of the successful Reddam House International group. Set in 125 acres of wood and parkland, housed in a magnificent mansion building. Throughout the school our emphasis is on independence; we expect our students to work hard in the belief that success is in his or her own hands. From babies in our Early Learning School through to our Sixth Formers moving on to University, students are active participants in setting the direction of their educational journey, developing a love of learning and being empowered with the self-discipline that provides the bedrock for success.

We have 800+ students between the ages of 3 months and 18 years registered here (day students and boarders from age 11+). Children are recognised as individuals with unique skills to celebrate and given tailored support and guidance at each stage of their school career. Our structure of Early Learning School, Junior School, Middle School and Senior School means that every year group works with professionals who specialise and enjoy working with the students in their care.

We currently have vacancies in our Early Learning School where we are seeking to appoint committed and dynamic Early Years Assistant (lunch cover) who will be working with children aged 3 months to 4 years providing care, play activities and supporting the EYFS assessment. Lunch cover (qualified or unqualified) – 4 hours a day Mon to Fri all year round, salary up to £15,080 depending on experience and qualifications. Start date - September 2026. We can also support with training to obtain Early Years qualifications within the framework of our apprenticeship levy scheme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To assist with the planning of the curriculum by providing safe, creative and appropriate educational opportunities for all children within an inclusive environment, preparing activities, organising programmes and arranging equipment.
  • To ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities, and to advise the room leader of any concerns over children, equipment etc.
  • To follow all school policies, including those regarding safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • To contribute to the school’s highest standards of physical and emotional care, health and safety, and personal and food hygiene at all times.
  • Working creatively with children within the EY framework, as instructed by the room leader.
  • To be involved in positive interactions with children by supporting or providing stimulating activities that respond to their interests and developmental needs.
  • Ensuring all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Work requires bending, kneeling and crouching for periods of time and may also involve lifting or holding children during planned activities, and changing nappies/toileting duties.
  • Understanding and being able to implement inclusive practices into the setting, to ensure all children have the opportunity to learn, interact and fulfil their potential.
  • Working with the room leader to establish an appropriate safe and secure learning environment.
  • Promoting positive values, attitudes and good child behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encouraging children to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

  • Ability to plan effective learning and care programmes either under appropriate supervision and guidance or in collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative.
  • Ability to evaluate own learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults including colleagues, other professionals and parents.
  • Ability to demonstrate and promote good practice in line with the ethos of the school.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, whilst ensuring children, colleagues, parents and carers are respected and listened to.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children.
  • Good written, verbal and non-verbal communication.

  • Enthusiasm for learning and working with children.
