We are looking for a skilled Switchgear Installer to join a busy engineering team. This role is site-based, and you would be expected to travel nationwide, work as part of an expert team, focus on installation/fitting and support various projects across the UK.

Duties:

  • Installation: Carry out physical installation of switchgear and associated equipment.
  • Understand electrical transmission and distribution systems.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Testing: Lead commissioning activities, including mandatory routine and type tests.
  • Maintenance: Lead preventative maintenance schedules and complex fault diagnosis/repairs.

Skills:

  • Experience working on switchgear/fitting/wiring.
  • Expertise in installing and commissioning switchgear.
  • Happy to work away (field-based role).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering/Wiring or equivalent.
  • Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
