We are looking for a skilled Switchgear Installer to join a busy engineering team. This role is site-based, and you would be expected to travel nationwide, work as part of an expert team, focus on installation/fitting and support various projects across the UK.
Duties:
- Installation - carry out physical installation of switchgear and associated equipment.
- Understand electrical transmission and distribution systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Testing - lead commissioning activities, including mandatory routine and type tests.
- Maintenance - lead preventative maintenance schedules and complex fault diagnosis/repairs.
Skills:
- Experience working on switchgear/fitting/wiring.
- Expertise in installing and commissioning switchgear.
- Happy to work away (field-based role).
- Good communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering/Wiring or equivalent.
- Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
